Confident in God

Confidence is a very valuable commodity for us to have. We need a certain amount of self-confidence to navigate life the way we should. It is great to be able to have confidence in family and friends for our times of need, too. However, the greatest confidence is when we are confident in God.

David had this confidence. (Psalm 57:7) He wanted everyone to know that his heart was confident in God. In fact, it was very confident. That is why it was no wonder that he could sing God's praises. Yes, that is so true. Without full confidence in God, our praises for God are not full and joyous.

We become confident in God when we have the assurance of our salvation from our sins. It is when we know that we know that we know we are forgiven forever, and we belong to the Lord. Many people do not have that confidence. Instead, the "hope" they have done enough to get to heaven. That is no way to live.

God wants us to know Him fully. He wants us to be assured our sins have been cleansed by the blood. He wants us to live with great confidence in Him because we know we are His child. Once we have that confidence, we will want to sing and even shout our praises to the God who did all of that for us and loves us all day, every day.
