God's Leaders Taking Charge

God rules from His throne in heaven. He is sovereign. He chooses people to be leaders, and He tells the leaders His will so they can do it. Then, great things are able to be done, as the leaders take charge, and the people follow God's leaders. This is how God works most of the time.

That is what happened when Deborah was judging Israel in the period of the judges. God told her to call Barak to put together a 10,000 man army to fight against the army of King Jabin of Hazor under the command of Sisera. God gave Israel a great victory. Afterwards, Deborah and Barak sang a song of victory. (Judges 5:2) They sang that Israel's leaders took charge, and the people gladly followed. Praise the Lord! This is a formula for victory today, too.

God wants his church to win great victories against Satan and his forces of evil. God is still calling out leaders today, and He is showing them His will. Leaders are not better than other Christians, but they are supposed to take charge to do God's will. Then, the rest of the church members are to gladly follow to do God's will and see the victory.

Sometimes, this doesn't happen, because people don't follow the leaders. Yes, sometimes the leaders are not good, but that is not usually the case. The problem is that we just don't want to follow these days. We want to do things our own way. We can't do everything our own way. We need to do it God's way, which is to follow our leaders and see God work wonders.
