The Lord Goes Ahead of You

One thing that brings people fear and anxiety is the uncertainty of the future. We wonder what will happen to us if we go to a new place. We are not sure if we can trust new people that we meet. We are unsure of what will happen tomorrow, so it can cause us to worry and to fret. God never wants His children to feel this fear and anxiety. If we know how God helps us, we will not be afraid of anything, but God.

Moses told the Israelites that he was about to die and Joshua would lead them into the land of Canaan. (Deuteronomy 31:6) He exhorted them to be strong and courageous, not to be afraid and not to panic before their enemies. The reason for their courage was that the Lord would personally go ahead of them. He would never fail them or abandon them. The same is true for believers today.

God is never early, and He is never late. We can count on Him to be with us as we go through life. The part that should give us great peace and courage is knowing that He goes ahead of us all the time. We will never go anywhere that God has not arrived there before us, and He has already seen any dangers, so He could protect us. That ought to be a great blessing to all Christians.

What a loving Father we have! He is willing to personally go before us to guide us and protect. He is there before we get there to stand in the way of anything that would hurt us. He has already seen the situation, so when we ask Him what to do, He is ready to show us with no delay. See what I mean? God loves us so much that He goes out of His way to be our Protector and Provider.
