How to Show Our Love to God

How can we show our love to someone we can't see? That is our challenge when it comes to showing our love to God. We can't see Him, but we know He is always there with us, as Christians. We know we are commanded to love Him with all our heart, soul, and mind, so what do we do? We need to stop and reflect on what the Bible says about how to express our love to Him, as well as, thinking about how we express our love to any other person. 

Moses gave the Israelites a great lesson in how to show their love to the Lord. (Deuteronomy 11:22) The first step is to be sure and obey all of His commands. Yes, we show our love for the Lord our God by walking in His ways and by holding tightly to Him. I believe this is a great insight into what all believers should do every day.

The truth is that we show our love for the Lord by reading and studying His Word, so that we can obey Him out of love. We must not just keep His Word out of duty, and we must not do it to be recognized by others. We need to obey out of a sincere love and desire to please the Lord. We need to see how the Lord works and what He does, as we read His Word, so we can live or walk in His ways. It is not enough to do God's will. We need to lovingly do it the way Jesus would do it. That shows our love for the Lord. 

Lastly, we need to hold tightly to Him. Sounds like a big bear hug doesn't it? That is how we need to think of our love for the Lord. The more we read His Word and walk in His ways, the more we are holding tightly to Him in all we do. We must love the Lord so much that we are constantly thinking of Him, doing His will, and staying close to Him in our thoughts all the time. That is how we show our love for the Lord who gave Himself for us.
