God's Work Remains Forever

People make mistakes. No matter how hard we work and plan, we never get to perfection. This shows us how limited we are as humans. We have incomplete knowledge and abilities. God is a whole different story. He has all knowledge. He never makes a mistake. He is holy and thus, perfect in every way. That is why Solomon was able to make such a definitive statement about the work of God in his writing in Ecclesiastes. (Ecclesiastes 3:14) Everything God does will remain forever. There is nothing to add to or nothing to take away from it. God has worked all things this way for all people to see, so we will fear, greatly respect, the Lord. I know that boggles our minds, but it is true.

God's goal in all He does is for people to see Him clearly, so we will put our trust in Him and have a close, personal relationship with Him. Our pride gets in the way. Also, our independence hinders us from fully following Him. Therefore, God is always working to do things in such a way that He humbles us and shows us that we are really dependent on Him. We can try to go against what God has done, but we never succeed. We can try to add to His work or take away from it, but we will find in the end that we did not really accomplish anything of the sort. God's work is eternal, and it is stable. It will break us, if we do not submit to Him. If we will stop to take a very thorough look at God's creation and other works, this will be readily apparent. Then, we can simply give in to God and admit that without Him, we are nothing. I pray we will all get to that point and fear the Lord the way God desires. It will be a great blessing.
