Your Dwelling Place
Where do you live? That is an important question for all of us. Where we live makes a lot of difference in how we do in our life. If we live in a good, secure place, we do not feel threatened or in danger. However, if we live in a bad place, we are constantly having to be on the alert for anything that would harm us or our family. That is a terrible way to live. The psalmist showed us the best place to dwell or to live, as we would say today. (Psalm 91:7,9) When we dwell in the Lord, my refuge, even the Most High, then we will see a thousand fall at our side and ten thousand fall at our right hand. The evil shall not approach us, because we have made the Lord our dwelling place. So, let me ask again, "Where do you live?"
Once we come to know Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior, we are "in Christ." That means we are located in Christ. We live with Him in the heavenly places, the spiritual realm, but we are no longer a citizen of this world. We are citizens of heaven. We are under the protection of the Lord, because we have made Him our dwelling place. Then, the more we settle in and abide in Christ and His Word, we see many more benefits. Read John 15:1-11. Focus on verse 11 where Jesus assures us that if we are abiding in the Lord and His Word, we will have "full joy." That is the best place for any of us to be in life. I pray we all will choose to make the Lord our dwelling place, and we will abide in Him fully every day, so our joy will be full.
