Finding God or Forsaking Him
God is Omni-present. He is everywhere in the universe. God is always working in the lives of every person to reveal Himself. However, not everyone "finds" God. How could they miss Him? The answer is fairly simple, and it is very important. God showed King Asa the answer through the prophet, Azariah. (II Chronicles 15:1-2) Azariah made it plain to the king that the Lord is with us when we are with Him. If we seek Him, we will find Him. If we forsake Him, He will forsake us. In other words, God is ready for us to find Him, but are we ready to seek Him?
Some people are oblivious to God. He blesses them all the time, but they do not see the blessings. They are too busy with their own lives to be concerned with God. The Bible is clear that God blesses the just and the unjust. Without Him, we would not even be alive. We would not have the food and resources to live, if He were not sending them for us. The problem is that when we receive all of this revelation of God, we are not seeking Him. We are not looking for it. We are forsaking Him, believing we are doing it all by ourselves. When our hearts are pointed away from God, we will not see Him, even though He is right there all the time. The key to finding God is to seek Him. Read His Word, pray, watch for the blessings, little and big. Then, give Him credit and thanks for all He does. If we will simply do those things, we will find Him, and His presence in our lives will bring us to an abundant life.
