God Exposed Himself to the Worst
We can really tell how much God is on our side, when we look at what He did for us. (Romans 8:31,32) God didn't hesitate to put everything on the line for us. He embraced our condition by becoming a man and experiencing all we experience. He exposed Himself to the worst treatment and the worst death anyone could ever receive. All of this He did by sending His own Son to pay for our sins. If He would do these things, He is really on our side, so how can we possibly lose? If He gave Himself for our sins on the cross, wouldn't He gladly and freely do anything else for us? This is something for all of us to meditate upon.
There are some people who think God has let them down, because He hasn't done just what they wanted Him to do for them. That is pretty selfish, if you ask me. God does not give us what we think we want at times, but He gave Himself for us sacrificially by dying the most terrible death for us. He took our sins, and He took the punishment for our sins, so we could have life and have it abundantly. That is greater than anything we could ever ask on our own. So if He did that, which He did, is He going to do the wrong things for us? No, but He will do whatever else we need for him to do for us to become joyful, mature followers of Jesus and live a life that testifies to His goodness and grace. We should be more than satisfied by all He has done and all He will do for us out of His great love for us. Truly, how can we lose?
