Promise of Protection

Satan is like a roaring lion. He is roaming around seeking those whom he may devour. That is what the Bible says as a warning to all of us. In fact, it is even worse than that. He has multitudes of demons which he commands, and they are stationed all around this world with their orders from him. So whether it is the devil himself, or one of his demons, we have to be on guard all of the time, or we will fall prey to their schemes. However, the book of James has good news for us in this regard. If we heed God's command to submit to God, then we can resist the devil, and he will flee from us, because of God's power. (James 4:7) That is a fabulous promise for all of God's children.

The first question then is, "Have we submitted fully to God?" Many believers have put their trust in Jesus as lord and Savior, but they have not fully submitted their whole body, soul, and spirit to Him. They still have not given Him their mind, will, and emotions, so they can think, act, and feel the way the Lord designed. Therefore, they are limiting the power of God in their lives. However, once we submit fully to God, knowing we have no power on our own to do His will, then, His power is there to protect us. All we have to do is decide to resist the devil as he tempts us to sin, and he will flee. God will chase him off for us. Again, the problem for many believers is that they are not resisting the devil, they are gladly listening to him and doing his bidding. Please, do not allow your life to be destroyed by the liar, and the one who comes to kill, steal, and destroy. Learn this promise and be set free from the damage the devil can do in your life.
