2020 Bible Readings

I am planning to read through the Bible again this year and to do my blog post each day. I try to use a different version each year to keep it fresh for me and for all of us. This year I have chosen the Message Bible. It is very different from other more literal translations that I have used. However, it is accurate, and I believe it will lead us to think deeply about God's Word. Of course, you can read along in whatever translation you choose. However, the verses I post will be from the Message. I pray this will be a blessing. Below is a quote about the Message Bible and it's author, as well as, the team of scholars who helped ensure its accuracy.

Eugene Peterson lived the joy of the Christian life. Intent on sharing it with others, he found himself translating the Bible for his congregation. A scholar of the Greek and Hebrew languages, Peterson worked to get the ancient text in their language while being true to the Bible's original languages. Peterson never tired of sharing the invitation that is God’s Word.

Peterson's work has been thoroughly reviewed by a team of recognized Old and New Testament scholars to ensure that it is accurate and faithful to the original languages.
