God Hates Dishonesty
Just think of all of the dishonesty that God sees in our society each day. I am sure it makes Him sick and angry. God hates all dishonesty, and He has warned us against doing anything in a dishonest way. It was much the same way in Zechariah's days, so God sent a warning that was very clear. (Zechariah 8:16,17) God's people need to hear this, and we need to remind our fellow citizens, as well as, our elected officials of God's hatred for dishonesty. Let's consider this short list.
God commands all of us to speak truth to one another. Just think of the lies and deceit we see each day in the media. Of course, we see it in our personal lives as we interact with others, too. God's will is for us to make true and sound decisions. That goes for us, so we must be careful as we decide on things in our lives. However, this applies to our leaders in a profound way. We must not plot evil against each our neighbors. It was just this week I read an account of a group of four men stealing from my neighbors in an organized way they had devised. This goes on in our government all the time, too. Finally, God commands us not to love perjury. We must not lie, and then, change our story to cover our tracks. God hates all of these things, whether they are done by believers or unbelievers. His anger will be poured out against individuals and nations who practice these things. Please, make this a matter of prayer and repentance for any of these things in your life. Pray for our leaders to do the same thing.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Zechariah 9-11.
