Complete Restoration

Recently, we had a minor disaster at our house. Our water heater leaked badly and flooded our basement. Everything was soaked, so that the carpet and pad had to be ripped out, the dry wall is having to be repaired, and some of the furniture will need to be replaced. I am glad the insurance is covering most of the costs of getting it all back to normal. The first thing we did was to call a "restoration" company to come out and dry it out completely. I am glad that part is done, and we can proceed with the rest. All of that reminds me of what God told His people through Zechariah. He promised them that they would be restored as though He had never rejected them. (Zechariah 10:6) What a glorious promise for them, and it has implications for us today, as well.

Have you ever allowed sin to come into your life to bring its destruction upon you and those around you? This is a condition that could come to any of us. Anyone can drift from the Lord, make some bad decisions, and suffer greatly from the effects of those things. However, God is the Ultimate Restorer. He is so compassionate toward us that He stands ready to come and restore us to Him, as if we had never departed form Him, causing Him to punish us. He is waiting to be our God and to answer our pleas for help. However, we have to make the call, and be committed to complete restoration by turning from our sins and trusting Him fully. If this is what you need today, please be assured that God is ready, and your complete restoration is free, because it comes by the grace of God.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Zechariah 12-14.
