Choose Life
Each of us has the freedom to choose what will happen in our lives. We make those decisions all of the time. Sometimes we choose wisely, and at other times we are very foolish. When we boil down all of our choices, they come down to two things. We can choose life or death, blessings or curses. (Deuteronomy 30:19) I know that sounds simplistic, but it is true.
We can choose to listen to the Lord and trust Him by faith. When we do that we are choosing life, because faith in Him and His Word lead to life, both physically and spiritually. If we make wrong choices, those decisions could lead us to destroy our own health or to be killed because we put ourselves in the wrong situations. Plus, if we fail to listen to the Lord, He could choose to bring an end to our life, just as He told Israel that they would perish, if they did not obey Him. Also, we can choose to receive the blessings of God or the curses of God. God blesses those who are faithful to Him to reward their obedience. He is so happy that we choose life and blessing that He wants to pour out good things upon us. However, if we choose to go our own way, we receive His curses as a way to remind us that we are going the wrong way and to call us back to Him. Either way, the choice is up to us. What will you choose?
Tomorrow, I intend to read Deuteronomy 32-34.
