Stumbling in the Ways of the Lord

Have you ever tried to walk through a dark room with which you were not familiar? Let me tell you from experience, that is a recipe for disaster. When you come upon something, you will stumble and you could hurt yourself very badly. We have the same problem in our lives every day. If we do not understand the ways of God, so that we do not discern them well, we will stumble in them. However, if we are wise, we will learn the ways of God well, and walk in them. (Hosea 14:9) That leads to a good life and much less trouble.

The Bible uses the word transgressors, but I am not sure how many of us really know what that word means. It means that we go against the laws of God. We try to step over them, and we stumble. We try to go against the flow of what God has commanded. However, it begins with an attitude. Transgressors usually do not want to understand God's ways or know them. They think they can make it just fine, but they are walking in the dark through life. They keep stumbling, but they are determined to keep going forward in their own intellect. Please, do not take that course. Read God's Word and heed God's Word, even if it seems wrong to you, because we can't break God's laws and go against His ways without a lot of harm to us and those around us.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Joel 1-3.
