Israel's Return to Their Own Land
A modern day miracle has been occurring since 1948. The Jewish people were given their land back from the nations around the land, and the people have been steadily moving back to Israel. They have had to fight wars, but God has blessed them, so that it should be evident to everyone that this is the work of the Lord, because the Jewish people are truly His chosen people. (Ezekiel 39:28) This does not mean that all Jewish people are saved and going to heaven. That is not the case, unless they have turned to the Messiah, Jesus Christ, in repentance and faith. However, it does mean that God is not finished with them yet, and He is working His plan for the end of the world before our eyes.
Many people ask for proof that God is real, and that Jesus is Lord of all. The return of the Jews to Israel, and their protection by God is a prophecy from Ezekiel that has been fulfilled in our time. It should be apparent that people could not have engineered this to happen without divine intervention. Why would the people want to return to Israel from the countries to which they were scattered, unless the Lord put it in their hearts? How could they build a modern powerful democracy in the midst of so many nations that are set on their destruction, unless God was protecting them? Why do Jewish people continue to study Hebrew and return to Israel, when they already have a language and a country where they have businesses and plenty of all they need, unless God is preparing them for something eternal? I pray that we, as Gentiles, will take this sign, and it will cause us to seek the Lord even more and to be convinced that God is alive and well, so we need to turn to Jesus before it is eternally too late.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Ezekiel 40-42.
