Righeous Deeds
Life is about choices. We are defined by the choices we have made in the past and the ones we are making in the present. How do we know what to choose? That is a question we all need to ask ourselves. It is not very smart to simply do what we think is right with no basis for that belief coming from an absolute authority. That is why we need to look to the One who defined what was righteous and what was unrighteous. God is righteous, and He loves for us to do righteous deeds. He will gladly show us what to do from the Bible and from speaking to our heart, if we will seek Him. (Psalm 11:7) Then, one day we will see His face, if we have chosen Christ as Lord and Savior and pursued righteousness for our lives.
Think back to the wrong choices you have made. How are they still affecting your life? What have you tried to do to get rid of the baggage from these choices? God is the Only One who can forgive your sinful choices and point you to how to make things right. He will show you what and how to do, if you seek His righteous deeds. Also, think of the right choices you have made and how they have been a blessing to you. Isn't that reason enough to make righteous deeds a priority in your life each day? I believe that is why we should start off the day asking God to show us the righteous deeds He wants us to do that day, and then, we should obey Him, no matter what. That is a big part of having a very blessed life.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 12-14.
