God's Turnaround for Job
When God allowed Satan to strike Job, it was a devastating blow. Job was ready to die. In fact, he wondered why he had even been born, if that is what was going to happen to his life. He thought God had given up on him and cursed him. Job was confused and full of why questions for God. However, after hearing from God, he humbly confessed that he had spoken what he did not understand, and God restored his family and doubled all his possessions. Then, Job lived 140 more years until he had seen four generations of his family.(Job 42:16,17) It is safe to say that Job was astonished at the turnaround God had engineered in his life. The truth is that God can do this for any of His children.
Sometimes, we are impatient with God. We think that God has made a mistake by not doing things our way. We may go through intense suffering and physical pain. We may lose all of our money and see our beloved family members taken out of this world earlier than we expected. Whatever causes it, we can get the notion that life is over for us. That is never true if we know the Lord Jesus. He is always able to make the end of our life so much better than we could have ever thought it would be. Therefore, I urge all of us, as believers, to continue to trust, as Job did, in spite of the pain. Then, in addition to the trust, pray expectantly for God's turnaround in our life.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 3-5.
