Doing What is Right in Our Own Eyes
There I one quick way to get in trouble with the Lord. Just do whatever you think is right. When we do that we see that our ways are not God's ways, so we miss God's will and miss His blessing, too. We will not be able to do whatever we think is right until we are in heaven receiving our rest and our inheritance. (Deuteronomy 12:8,9) This truth is so vital, because it is very natural for us to do things our own way, so we need to reprogram our minds and hearts to be focused on what the Lord says is right.
God has given us the Word of truth, the Bible, to guide us in His ways instead of our ways. Also, He draws us by His Spirit to trust Him and to trust Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Once we do that, we are His child, and we receive the Holy Spirit to live in us. He shows us truth, while convicting us of sin, righteousness, and judgment. Therefore, if we listen to the Spirit, we can stop from doing things our way, and we can do them His way in His power in us. Then, He can bless us, instead of having to punish us for going our own way.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Deuteronomy 15-17.
