The Land Cared for by God
We refer to Israel as the holy land. It is holy, because God had set it aside as an inheritance for the descendants of Abraham forever. However, I think it is even more special for another reason. It is the land God cares for, and His eyes are on it all year long. (Deuteronomy 11:11,12) I don't believe this is said about any other land on earth.
Now I have seen with my own eyes that Israel is a good land of hills and valleys, which drinks in rain from heaven. It is a land flowing with milk and honey. It is the special place God made to give to His people, Israel, so it is the place where Jesus came into this world and where He departed from earth. It is being kept safe until the time of the end when Jesus will return to reign from Jerusalem for 1,000 years. In the meantime the Jewish people are steaming back to their land, and they are growing crops and producing bountifully. All of this is true because this land is special to God. He cares for it, and He will continue to use it as the base of His plans for the end of this age. Therefore, the blessing of the land of Israel is a great witness to the truth of God's Word, and it should cause people to bow before Him in repentance and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Deuteronomy 12-14.
