The Final Invitation
All through the Bible we read invitations for people to come to the Lord. It has always been amazing to me that God placed the final invitation in the closing words of the final book of the Bible. (Revelation 22:17) This shows us God's heart for those who have yet to come to know Him. It also shows the priority He puts on giving each person every opportunity to come to salvation in Jesus Christ. Let's look at what God said in this verse.
The Spirit and the Bride say, "Come." The Holy Spirit is constantly convicting each person in the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. (John 16:8-11) We never have to think that we are the first person to try to lead another person to come to the Lord. God is doing it all of the time. The bride is the church. That means it is the mission of the church to ask people to come to Jesus constantly, too. In fact, we are to use every resource we have to engage people who need the Lord. Finally, we are to take it personally, because once we hear the call, we are the perfect ones to call others on a personal basis. When we see people who are thirsting for the water of life, we need to tell them it is a free gift, which requires us to turn to the Lord fully and trust Jesus as Lord and Savior. On this last day of 2017 I want to call you to come to know Jesus, if you have never taken that step. I am here to help, if you need any encouragement or guidance.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Genesis 1-3.
