Complete Obedience

The sons of Israel did all that the Lord commanded Moses. (Numbers 2:34) That is an amazing statement. It does not mean they were perfect. It means they followed the plan of God totally. They were completely obedient. How many of us can say the same thing about ourselves and our families?

Many believers have the wrong view of obedience. They think that when they obey the Lord in one thing they get "brownie points" with God. They think He is pleased with any amount of obedience in their lives. That is not completely true, especially if we are doing it just so God will bless us. God is looking for those of us who will be completely obedient, because we realize He is Lord, and His plan for us is perfect. Therefore, if we depart from any part of His plan, we are disobedient, and we do not get the benefits of seeing His full plan worked out in our lives

Remember this, incomplete obedience is disobedience. Also, delayed obedience is disobedience. When God shows us what to do, it is up to us to choose to do it fully and with all our heart. When He tells us when to do something, we are to do it then, or we could miss the opportunity He has opened up for us. That is why we need to practice complete obedience.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Numbers 5-7.
