The Person God Blesses
There are certain characteristics that God looks for in people, and when He finds them, He blesses those people. (Isaiah 33:15,16) We seem to see less and less of these character qualities these days, but God is still looking to bless those who have them. Let's see what God is looking for, so we can be blessed by doing them.
God is watching for people who walk or live righteously and speak uprightly. That means that they live in a way that they are right with God and with other people. It also means that they speak in a way that is right with God and others. God is looking for those who refuse to oppress other people to make money and who refuse to take brides. In other words, they make money honestly, as they care for the people with whom they deal. God hates the shedding of innocent blood, so He loves to see people who won't listen to reports of murder and who turn their eyes from evil things. When He sees those things, He will lift up that person to be close to Him. He will protect them and provide what they need to eat and drink.
We need to pray that we can be an example of living like this to others, so that these qualities will be accepted and spread. Then, God can bless us and our country once again.
