Perfect Peace in the Storm
I hope that it is evident to all that my posts from reading Isaiah have been designed to call us to prayer and repentance, so that we can call on God for an awakening in America. They are not designed to scare anyone or to make anyone anxious. In fact, I strongly believe that God desires for all of us to have perfect peace, even in the midst of the storm of terrorism, economic problems, and natural disasters. (Isaiah 26:3,4) This promise of God given by Isaiah should be cherished by all of us.
These verses are very comforting even when taken out of their context. However, if you have been reading Isaiah with us, you know this promise is given in the midst of many prophecies about destruction and God's punishment on the sins of nations. That makes it all the more meaningful to me. It is truly perfect peace in the storm.
This perfect peace comes to those who fix their minds on God, not on their problems or the problems of the world. That is a daily exercise of faith in the Lord. We look to Him constantly, because our trust is in Him. When we have such trust and dependence on the Lord, He is everlasting strength for us, no matter what happens around us or to us. That can only be done by the One True God, who is eternal and all-powerful. I pray that we all would have our gaze set on Him in trust, so we have God's perfect peace in the midst of the worst of days on this earth.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Isaiah 27-29.
