The One Who Brings Good News
We all love to get good news. We are thankful for anyone who brings us good news. When a person proclaims peace to us, it is so much better than when someone tells us about strife or war. However, the best news is the news of salvation, and the fact that the One True God reigns. (Isaiah 52:7) What a blessing to have someone bring the good news of salvation to us!
If everyone loves to get good news, then, why do we not want to share the good news of salvation with others? The answer is simple. Many people do not want to hear about salvation, even though that is what they really need the most. They want good news, peace, and glad tidings without God and salvation. Therefore, we hold back, and we do not give them the best news of all.
That is so sad to me. We have the best news in the whole world. We know that God came down to die for us, so that anyone who turns from their sins to trust Christ as Lord receives salvation. However, we keep the good news to ourselves, because we fear being rejected. That is not a good reason to disappoint God. We should long to hear Him tell us we have been good messengers of His salvation for Him. The main thing is not whether we please people or not. It is if we will please God or not. He says He loves to see us deliver His good news, so let's be faithful bearers of the gospel to all people.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Isaiah 53-56.
