God Never Forgets His Children
Isaiah gave us an excellent word picture to explain how God will never forget His children. When a mother is nursing her child, there is a special bond between them. That mother is very attentive to the needs of her child, even if they are in different rooms or separated in some other way. However, God is even more sensitive to His children. That mother may forget her nursing child, but God will never forget His children. (Isaiah 49:15) What an expression of love and care for us!
Some people seem to feel that God has forgotten them. They think that way because of bad things that happen to them, or the fact that they do not get what they have asked for in their prayers. However, God allows difficulties to make us stronger, and He does not spoil us by giving us everything we ask for. He wants us to see just how much He loves us and to know that He does for us what is best, not what we want. We must trust His great love, knowing that He never forgets us, and we can trust Him to be sensitive to all we need.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Iaiah 50-52.
