Sin has Separated Us from God
Many people think that God will hear them if they call out to Him. Then, they are surprised when He does not hear and answer their prayers. Why does God not answer them? It is their sins. (Isaiah 59:1,2) Our sins separate us from God. When we sin with no remorse, and we continue in our sins without confessing them, God hides His face from us, so that He does not hear and answer our prayers. This is another reason for our predicament in the USA.
God hates sin. He knows it brings destruction and death to us. He can't stand to watch us destroy our lives, yet we do have a choice, so He allows us to go our way. When we do, our sins come between us and God, so that He sees the sins, but not us. That is why we must confess our sins and be cleansed from them. (I John 1:9) When we confess them, God cleanses us and we can see His face, and He can hear our prayers. Then, the sin is not blocking His view or His ability to hear us.
Therefore, as believers, we must confess our sins and the sins of our country, as we cry out to God. When He sees our sincere confession, He will hear and answer our prayers in His will.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Isaiah 61-63.
