God Sees and Meets Our Needs
God is love. As He looks down on this earth, His compassionate heart sees the needs of people, and He is moved to meet the needs of those with pure hearts. (Psalm 68:5,6) God's gracious provision is there for orphans, widows, singles, and those who are bound in various ways. We must never doubt His love and grace.
Everyone needs a mother and a father, but God sees the orphan and those who lose one of their parents, and He becomes a "father to the fatherless." He is such a good Father, too. He knows the helplessness and loneliness of widows, so that He defends them and meets their needs, too. The single person is not left alone by the Lord, but He puts them into families. God sees the oppressed peoples of the world, and He brings them out of bondage to prosperity. I could go on and on, because God is always looking down from His holy habitation to help us in His love.
The exception to this truth is that God does not meet the needs of the rebellious. Those who have a rebellious heart are left to live in a dry land. In other words, God does not rush to meet their needs. It could be that their loss has made them bitter, and the bitterness has turned into rebellion against God. He see that, and He waits to see if the rebel will turn to Him and forsake His opposition to the Father. It is a matter of the heart getting set on the Lord, instead of trying to fulfill their own selfish desires.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 69-71.
