Cast Your Burden on the Lord
What is the heavy burden your are carrying now? Whatever it is, you need not carry it. Cast it on the Lord, and He will sustain you. (Psalm 55:22) The Lord is always there for His children, urging us to stop trying to carry the burdens of life. He knows we are weak, but He is strong. Also, He is love, so He cares for us. Therefore, He wants our burdens, so we can be free and unburdened, as we live our lives for Him.
This truth applies to those who know Christ. We have the righteousness of Christ substituted for our unrighteousness, when we turn from our sins, and trust Christ as Lord of our lives. There are many benefits for believers, but remember, God wants to help us here and now, not just take us to Heaven when we die or Jesus returns. He desires for us to live abundantly every day. However, we can't do that in our own strength. We must cast our cares and burdens on Him. Then, His sustaining power will be applied to us. What a blessing!
Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 56-59.
