Whatever the Lord Says
Micaiah was a prophet in Israel during the time of evil King Ahab. Ahab hated him because he never prophesied good things about Ahab. It was not Micaiah's fault. He was only saying whatever God said to him. (I Kings 22:14) The problem was that Ahab did not want to do God's will; he only wanted to do whatever he wanted to do. The same is true of many people today.
There are many preachers today who tell people what they want to hear to try to draw a crowd. The Bible says that they are false prophets. They do not speak God's Word. They are people pleasers. This type of preaching might make you feel good for a while, but it will lead you to destruction. (Proverbs 14:12)
What we need are more Micaiahs. We need preachers who will speak forth whatever God says to them, even if it is not popular. That is the only way we will stay in the will of God, and find victory in life. Please, realize that man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. (Deuteronomy 8:3; Matthew 4:4) We all need to hear whatever God says as often as we can hear it, and then, we need to obey it.
Tomorrow, I intend to read II Kings 1-3.
