We Must Not Remain Silent
We know the way to have life in Jesus Christ. We must not remain silent, when so many people are dying without Him each day. The four lepers outside of Samaria waiting to die during the famine caused by the siege of the city learned this lesson. They found the enemy camp abandoned and all of the tents intact with food and gold. They started eating all they could and taking the riches back to their tents, but then, they realized that they could not remain silent and keep the good news of life to themselves when the people in the city were dying of hunger. (II Kings 7:8) We need to be like those lepers and go now to tell the good news of Jesus.
We live in a day of good news. Jesus Christ has died and has risen from the dead to provide forgiveness of sin and eternal life to all who will trust Him. It is not up to us to convince anyone of the truth of this good news. We are only the messengers. However, our role is vital, because if they never hear the gospel, they cannot trust Christ in repentance and faith. Therefore, we must not remain silent, but tell the good news wherever we go.
Tomorrow, I intend to read II Kings 10-13.
