A Sling and a Stone
When David went against the giant Philistine, Goliath, he did not go in the armor of Saul, because he was unfamiliar with it, and it was too heavy for him. He stuck with what he knew and what he was comfortable with, a sling and a stone. (I Samuel 17:50) His way was just as effective as the greatest warrior with all of the armor and weapons of war. What does the Lord want us to glean from this?
Many of us feel unequipped to do God's will. We look at others who are physically stronger than we are or intellectually smarter than we are, and we assume we are incapable of doing great things. We see those with a lot of money or those who have a great grasp of technology, and we assume that those things are needed to be successful in God's service. None of that is true. God can use us just like we are, as we are using the things we are comfortable using because of our experiences.
Never let Satan talk you out of doing God's will because you feel inferior. If God has led you to do His will, trust Him, and yield Him yourself and all that you have, so that He can use you for His kingdom work. When we are in His hands, anything is possible.
Tomorrow, I intend to read I Samuel 18-21.
