Complete in Him
Human beings have all kinds of needs. Many people feel that their needs are not being met, and they feel like they are missing out on life because of that. The truth of the Gospel is that once we know Christ we are complete in Him. (Colossians 2:9,10) Our completeness comes from Jesus and who Jesus is.
At Christmas we celebrate the incarnation of God. God became a man. The fullness of the Godhead dwelt in Jesus. As I say so often, Jesus is 100% God and 100% man. He is the only person in history to have 2 natures perfectly combined in 1 person. He has always been the Lord of all, and He became our Savior when He took on human flesh, so He could die for our sins and rise again to win the victory over Satan, death, and the grave. When Jesus comes to live in us at salvation, we have all we need and more.
In fact, He is the Head over all principality and power. There is no one or no thing with more authority and power than Jesus. When we are in Him, all of His authority and power are available to us through our relationship with Him. Satan and his demons have no power over us. Therefore, we have no need to fear. We are complete in Him.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Colossians 3-4 and I Thessalonians 1-2.
