I Will Rejoice in the Lord
Some people only rejoice in the Lord when good things happen to them. Of course, we should rejoice then, but we ought to rejoice even when the good things are not happening, too. (Habakkuk 3:17,18) It is really a simple principle, so I hope we can all seize upon it for our lives every day.
God is worthy of all of our praise. If all He ever did for us was save us from our sins, we should be able to rejoice every day of our lives and to live in the joy of the God of our salvation. I am afraid we take salvation for granted. The privilege to spend eternity knowing the Lord of the universe beginning right here while we are on this earth and continuing once we are with Him in heaven, is the most fantastic blessing possible. Remember, we are all sinners, and we do not deserve forgiveness, at all. We deserve Hell. It is only by the loving grace of God that we can be saved through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Therefore, we should be full of joy, no matter what happens in our lives. When we grasp this principle, ever day will be a little bit of heaven on earth. We will be rejoicing all the way to glory.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Zephaniah 1-3.
