Woe to the Foolish Prophets
Many people claim to speak forth God's Word, so they would be called prophets. The problem is that some of them are foolish prophets, because they follow their own spirit, and God has shown them nothing. (Ezekiel 13:3,8) These people speak nonsense and envision lies, so they are very dangerous. We must all watch out for foolish prophets.
How can we tell if a person is a real prophet of God or not? The answer is fairly simple. What they say comes true 100% of the time, and they never say anything that contradicts the Bible. Unfortunately, not many people know these two tests, and not many people know the Bible well. That makes it easy for foolish prophets to spread their nonsense and lies today.
Never accept what you hear or read until you have checked the Bible thoroughly and you have checked the record of the person who is speaking or writing. Yes, it takes some time, but it will be much better than listening to someone or something that sounds good, but it is false. Being duped by a foolish prophet makes us feel very badly, and we could have influenced someone else to believe their lies. That is why we must take this very seriously like God does.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Ezekiel 16-18.
