Edom Is No More
Where is Edom? Once Edom was a proud country that rejoiced at the defeat of Judah. Now Israel is a country, and Edom is no more. (Jeremiah 49:17) We need to learn the lesson of Edom.
God raises up countries, and He destroys countries. Some are very great, and their fall is terrible. When a nation becomes proud and the people think they are invincible, the Lord can bring defeat very quickly. This was not just true of Israel. It is true for any nation. The fall of Edom was likened to the fall of Sodom and Gomorrah. They were destroyed for their sins, which were many. Now, where is Sodom or Gomorrah? They are no more.
What about the USA? Are we invincible? Are we proud and lifted up in our sins? I believe we are very proud and very stubborn. We better seek the Lord and turn from our pride, or soon we could be no more. It is all up to God. Once He declares His judgment on us, the end could come very quickly, and it could be very complete.
