The Benefits of Walking Uprightly
A lot of people think that living the Christian life is boring and unsatisfying. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Life is hard, and when we get into a difficult situation, often we can't get out of it by ourselves. We need help. Who is better to have helping us than the Lord? If we are walking uprightly, He will grant us whatever we need.(Psalm 84:11,12) That is amazing, but true.
God looks for people who are living right, so He can bless them. As I have said many times, He rewards righteous living, so we will strive to live according to His will and His ways. He does this for our good. If we need the sun, He will be our sun. If we need a shield from our enemies, He will be our shield. God will give us grace and glory, as we need them. In fact, there is no good thing He will withhold from those who walk uprightly. What a blessing!
God is not a genie. We don't go to Him with our wishes. We go to Him in time of need, and He is there to meet that need in what ever way we need Him. He is not granting wishes. He is rewarding faithfulness in living the Christian lifestyle. Some people wonder why they never seem to get blessed by God. It could be their lifestyle. There are a lot of benefits to walking uprightly.
