Job's Walk With God

How is your walk with God on a daily basis? Job had such a walk with God that he was confident that he would pass God's test, if he could just speak to God about his situation.(Job 23:10-12) Job was not arrogant. He had a genuine love for the Lord that translated into a growing spiritual life. God wants that for every believer.

Job had made several commitments to the Lord which were vital to a growing relationship. He followed God's steps or God's path, which the Lord laid out before him, as they talked together. He knew that he had not turned aside from the way God was leading him, because he stayed close to the Lord continually. Also, Job had not departed from the commandments of God. His life was to hear the commands from the lips of God and obey them.

Finally, I believe he gives us the key to it all, when he affirmed that he treasured the words of God, more than his necessary food. In other words Job might miss a meal, but he would not miss his talks with God. They meant more to him, and they were more nourishing to him than physical food. They were his spiritual food.

I am sure that we all would profit from from these commitments and this desire for the very words of God. Then, we could all be confident of passing God's test.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Job 25-27.
