The Battle is the Lord's
We are all involved in a great spiritual battle. We may not be aware of the spiritual dimension of all that is going on, but it is real. It was real for David when he went against Goliath, the Philistine, too. (I Samuel 17:45,47) He did the right thing to win the battle, and we must do the same things every day to win our battle.
David was no match for Goliath in physical size or in his weapons. However, did not go to fight Goliath with just physical weapons. He went in the name of the Lord. That means David trusted the Lord to use His power and authority to defeat his enemy. We must do the same thing. We must trust Christ for salvation by grace through faith.(Ephesians 2:8,9) Then, we must live by grace through in Him each day by trusting His power to see us through.
The reason is because the battle is the Lord's. He is the one who has defeated Satan by the Cross and the Resurrection. Now, He can and will defeat our enemies, if we are His children. Whoever attacks us is attacking Him. Therefore, we must allow Him to fight for us, and we will win every time. Then, everyone around us will see that it is not our strength or intelligence that brings victory in life, but it is the Lord Jesus Christ.
Tomorrow, I intend to read I Samuel 18-20.
