Rewarding Others With Good
God's ways are not our ways. A very good example of that truth is when it comes to taking revenge. God tells us not to seek revenge on others, but to reward good for evil that is done to us. David knew this, especially when it came to him harming Saul, the Lord's anointed king.(I Samuel 24:17,20) I hope each of us will take this to heart.
What do you do when someone wants to hurt you or when someone does hurt you? Do you try to hurt them? That is not God's way. He desires for us to love everyone, even those who hate us and hurt us. When we love others with that unconditional love, they can see God in us. They know we are different because God is helping us. Saul saw this difference in David, and that showed him David would be the king one day. God would bless him for being righteous, and he would punish Saul for seeking to do evil to David, even though David had always been loyal to him.
Let's determine to return good for evil. Let's show the unconditional love of God to all people, and when they see the difference, let's tell them about how Jesus saved us and changed us.
Tomorrow, I intend to read I Samuel 25-28.
