The Hour of Judgment is Coming
Make no mistake. Every person will stand before God in a time of judgment. It is vital that we be prepared for that meeting with our Maker.(Revelation 14:6,7) Near the end of time, God will send His angel to share the everlasting gospel with everyone left on the earth. John has recorded for us what the angel will say. Let's consider the message of the angel and what it takes to be ready for that time.
We must fear God. If we do not fear God, we will not repent of our sins, and we will not worship Him with all of our hearts. It is not the same fear that we have for people or dangers. It is a fear that causes reverence and awe for the One True God.
We must give Him glory for all He has done. We must not try to take credit for our lives. Without the Lord we can do nothing, so we need to admit that and give Him all of the credit and glory. Again, this causes us to be able to fully worship Him for who He is.
Finally, we need to worship the Creator of all things. If we do not believe in Him as Creator, there is no way to believe in Jesus as Lord and Savior. Yes, that is what I meant to say. If God is not the One who made all things by His power and wisdom, how can He save us and why would He save us? He cares because we are His creation. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for us, and He raised Him from the dead to redeem people from their sins and to eventually restore His creation to sinless perfection. See how it all flows back to Him being the Creator.
We must repent of our sins, trust Christ as Lord and Savior to forgive us and surrender our lives to Him as our Lord to be saved. That is the everlasting Gospel. However, if you think you have done that, and you do not fear God, glorify Him and worship Him as Creator of all, I would suggest that you need to check what you have done. It is a total package, and to be prepared for God's Judgment we must do all of these things.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Revelation 17-19.
