Perpetual Thanksgiving and Praise

God is worthy of all of our thanks and praise. For eternity the angels are around the throne of God giving Him thanks and praise. One day believers will join with them around the throne to thank Him and praise Him. Now, we should make it  our daily practice to give thanks and praise to God. The Levites had a lot of duties around the Tabernacle and the Temple to aid in the worship of God. However, one of them stuck out to me this morning. Every morning and every evening, they were to stand to thank and praise the Lord.(I Chronicles 23:30) I believe God is trying to tell us all something important.

If we will live lives full of thanks and praise to God, it will ensure that we have the right perspective on life. We are not the source of life, health, and other resources. He is. Every time we stop to thank Him and praise Him, we have to acknowledge who He is, and who we are. This brings us to humility, instead of pride. It leads us to worship Him, not to take Him for granted. Also, it points others to the Lord. Once we come to know Christ, we should cultivate a heart of thanks and praise in order to grow in Him and to be His witnesses.

Tomorrow, I intend to read I Chronicles 26-28.
