Cheerful Giving
The Bible says that God loves a cheerful giver. I do not think that just means giving money, but it extends to all we do. Do we give of ourselves, our talents, our time, and our money cheerfully? King David and the people rejoiced in their giving for the new Temple.(I Chronicles 29:9) I believe that shows us a great deal about them, and our giving shows us a great deal about ourselves.
What we give our money, time, and talents to shows our heart. We give to what we think is important. When we give cheerfully from a loyal heart, it shows that we know God is The Source of all we have, and that He will take care of us. When we rejoice in giving, we know that we are part of doing His work and building His kingdom, so that we are a vital part of His family. God's resources are given to us, and then, we give them to those who need them. That makes us a conduit of blessings. If we fail to give cheerfully, the conduit is blocked, and the work of God is stalled. We do not receive the blessing of being obedient and seeing Him use us.
I pray that we will all be cheerful givers all of the time.
Tomorrow, I intend to read II Chronicles 3-5.
