Despising God's Commands
We live in a day and time when even people who call themselves Christians despise God's commands. It is a dangerous way to live. God punished King David severely, and I believe He does the same thing today.(II Samuel 12:9) When David committed adultery and murder, God told him that the sword would not depart from his family. God promised to raise up adversity against David because of his disregard for His commandments.(II Samuel 12:10-12) David repented of his sins, and God forgave him, but God never removed these consequences.
Marriage must be held as sacred. That is why God told us in the Ten Commandments not to commit adultery. Fornication is condemned in the Bible, and we are commanded to flee from it, because it goes against God's design for sex to be between a husband and wife only. Anyone who has sex outside of the marriage of a husband and wife, including living together before marriage, is despising God's commands.
Human life must be held as sacred. Anyone who takes the life of an innocent person is breaking God's command against murder. The most innocent person in the world is an unborn baby, so abortion is despising God's commands, too.
Let us all as God's people stand up for marriage and for life, so that our families and our country will not continue to face the dire consequences of despising the commands of God.
Tomorrow, I intend to read II Samuel 14-17
