God's Grace for All People
There are two ways to think about salvation. Some think we obtain salvation by doing works. Others think it is a gift from God. In fact, it is a gift. God shows us that truth in our hearts, if we will just stop and consider what He is saying to each of us.(Titus 2:11-13) Salvation by works is unfair, because some people may not be able to do those works. Also, we would never know if we had done enough works to be saved until we stand before the Lord, and then, it would be too late to do any more, if we had fallen short. That is why God made it by grace, which means it is a free gift to those who put their trust in Christ as Lord and Savior of their lives.
What has God shown to you? He has shown all people His grace. He sent Jesus to be born and to die for us, because we can't do anything to save ourselves from our sins. In our hearts God shows Himself to us, so that we know He is there, and we should trust Him. Then, when we trust Him who created everything, and who loves us so, He makes sure we come to know about Jesus Christ. Even before we know all of what the Bible says and about Jesus, we know that the right way to live is to be godly and righteous. Some people do not think that is possible, and they are taken away by their own desires, but they still know what they are doing is wrong. God shows them.
I pray that this Christmas we will all worship Jesus, and we will do what we know God wants us to do by putting our trust in Him as Lord and receiving His salvation as the greatest gift of all.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Philemon and Hebrews 1-2.
