Seeing God's Work

There is nothing more wonderful than to be involved in the work of God. First of all, salvation is His work, and when we are saved, it is beyond words. Then, to see His work in the lives of others is amazing.(Acts 11:21) That is what the entire book of Acts is about. Let's consider how God works.

God puts His hand on people who believe in Him to empower them to do His will. That is seen all through the Bible. When we are faithful to Him, He uses us to accomplish His will. If His hand is not upon us, we are missing out on what He really wants to do in us and through us. Remember, Jesus said that without Him we can do nothing.(John 15:5) We are tools in His hands, if we are to accomplish anything.

When He does work in the lives of others, we see them believe and turn to Him. We can't do one without the other. We are sinful, so part of believing or trusting the Lord is turning away from our way, our sins, and turning to His way. We call it repenting, and none of us will do it, unless God is working in us to draw us to Him, because it goes against the flesh, human nature. Therefore, it is a beautiful thing to see a person who is ready and willing to believe and to turn.

Let's pray for a great work of God like they saw in Antioch, so that we will see a great number believe and turn to the Lord. Let's do whatever it takes to stay faithful to Him, so that His hand will be upon us. Let's give Him all of the glory for what happens.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Acts 13-15.
