Altogether Such as I Am

Would it be a good thing if everyone's life was just like your life? That is what Paul told King Agrippa, after he witnessed to him about Christ, and Agrippa was close to becoming a believer.(Acts 26:29) It was a bold declaration that some people might see as arrogance, but it was not arrogant. It was the truth.

Paul was a sinner saved by the grace of God. The old man, the old Paul, was dead, and he was a new creation in Christ. He had his sins forgiven, and he was assured of living forever with the Lord in heaven after he departed this world. While he was here, his life was Christ, but he knew going to heaven would be even better. He had the peace that passes understanding. He loved others unconditionally. He was a messenger for the One True God. In fact, he was a child of God who had been adopted into His family, so he could never be "unadopted." He had crowns waiting for him in heaven because of his faithful service to God, and he had brought many people to Christ, who would be there with him. What a life!

Now, do you see why Paul wanted everyone to be altogether such as he was? The question for us is, "Can we make the same statement?" Would it be a good thing for everyone to be altogether like us? If not, we need to get right with the Lord, so we can come to make that statement to those around us.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Romans 1-3.
