For There is No Partiality with God
God treats everyone exactly the same.(Romans 2:11) He does not give some people a break that He does not give others. He is not more harsh on some people than others. He is totally fair in His judgment, and He is always correct. He is love, and He always treats people with mercy. However, when He does punish, it is always according to His Word and His perfect knowledge.
God does not look on the outward appearance of a person. He looks at the heart. He knows everything in every heart, and He does the right thing, as He relates to each of us. We do not get a break for being a Jew, a Baptist, or for being in any other group of people, like being an American. All people know there is a God, because God has revealed Himself to them, so they are without excuse, if they do not respond in faith.(Romans 1) We do not get special treatment if we witness or teach others the Bible. We have to practice what we preach and teach.(Romans 2) We all have sinned. The only way to have our sins forgiven is by trusting Christ, as Lord and Savior, because He died for us to pay our penalty and take our punishment.(Romans 3)
This truth should be firmly planted in our hearts, so that we do not think we will get special treatment because of who we are. We must never presume upon the grace of God or His mercy by thinking He will overlook our sins or our heart condition. At the same time this truth gives everyone great hope. No one is too bad to trust Christ. If God sees living faith in Christ from a pure heart, He is pleased, no matter who the person is. Everyone has the same opportunity to trust the Lord, be saved, and live the abundant life.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Romans 4-6.
