We Have Hope Because of the Lord

Sometimes, we feel hopeless because of our life circumstances. We are focusing on our problems, instead of on the Lord. We forget the simple truths that bring hope. However, when we stop to see those things, we have our hope renewed like Jeremiah did. (Lamentations 3:21-24)

Remember, it is because of the mercies of the Lord that we are even alive at this moment. There is so much evil around us all of the time that we could be consumed by it at any moment. However, God is love, and He expresses His love constantly to all of us. His compassions, His acts of love toward us, never fail. They are there new every morning for what we will face that day. It may be what we call a bad day, but He is with us to walk with us and give us strength. God's faithfulness is great! Remember, also, that the Lord is where we find our meaning and all we have. He is our portion, our life. Don't look to other things or people for life. Hope in Him. That is what Jeremiah did in one of the most terrible times in the history of the world, so that he had hope. God saw him through it all, and He will see you through, too.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Lamentations 4-5 and Ezekiel 1.
