Your Purpose in the Kingdom

What is your purpose in God's kingdom at this point in your life? That question is of utmost importance for you and for your family. Esther became queen of Persia for a purpose. God prepared her in advance, and He led her to that position, so she could save her people from destruction. If she had remained silent, God would have had to punish her and her family for her disobedience, even though He would have sent deliverance from a different person.(Esther 4:14) Disobedience always has consequences for you and for those around you.

Everyone who comes to know the Lord Jesus is saved for a purpose.(Ephesians 2:10) If we fail to follow the Lord and to fulfill those things He has laid out for us, He has to punish us, as any good father would punish his child to lead him to do the right thing. Many people believe that the only purpose of salvation is just so we can go to heaven. That is absurd. If that is the case, why doesn't God take us straight to heaven when we trust Christ? The fact is that each believer is here for this time, and each of us has been prepared for particular works of witness and service in God's kingdom, so that every people group can come to know Christ. Please, don't miss God's purpose for you. If you do, you will not experience the abundant life Christ has for you.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Esther 6-8.
