You Alone are the Lord!
There can be only one Lord, just by the definition of the word. Only one can be in control of all things. Only one can be the Creator of all and the Sustainer of all. That one is YAHWEH, the God of the Bible. Nehemiah and the people of God came to that realization in a new and powerful way, when the book of the Law was read to them, and they received it with open hearts.(Nehemiah 9:6) They had a revival, and they made a new covenant with the Lord of all.
Each of us needs to ingest and digest the Word of God on a daily basis. We need to make sure we are not reading just for information, but for life change. When we read His Word the Lord will reveal Himself to us in such a way that our lives will focus on what is right. We will be able to see how God brought us to where we are, and we will be led to go in the right direction for the future. That is what happened in Nehemiah's time, and it happens every time people sincerely seek the Lord through His Word.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Nehemiah 11-13 and Esther 1.
